9/25/2013 9:24:00 PM

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team held a lead twice in the first half Wednesday night against Eastern New Mexico, but the visiting Greyhounds scored the final three goals of the match in a 4-2 loss.

Nathan Cotterell put the Falcons on top in the 10th minute, scoring his team-leading eighth goal of the season on a shot from the left side of the box on a ball played diagonally across the field on passes by Logan Sharp and Tyler Gibson.

Andy Wilkinson tied the game a little over a minute later, heading in a volley from up close from Julian Roberts on a free kick from 25 yards out on the right side of the field.

Ciaran Connery gave UTPB the advantage again at 15:00 in the first when the Greyhoundks keeper was taken out trying to clear a long pass in front of the net by Cotterell. Connery chipped in a shot with the net wide open to put the Falcons up 2-1.

ENMU came back with a pair of goals in under a minute, scoring twice on balls dribbled through the middle of the field and scored from straightaway by Julian Roberts and Kal Herbert at 23:48 and 24:39.

The Greyhounds added another goal at 65:50 on a give and go by Carlos Viveros before scoring to double up their lead at 4-2.

The Falcons hit the road after a weekend off, traveling to Canyon, Texas, for a 7 p.m. match Tuesday, October 1 at West Texas A&M.
