The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team was asent home with a 3-0 defeat Monday afternoon against Lubbock Christian in a non-conference contest in Lubbock, Texas.

Billy Forbes put the Chaps on top with a pair of goals in four minutes in the first half. Forbes scored the first goal of the game after accepting a pass across the 6-yard box from Carlos Vela. in the 30th minute at 29:51 of the first.

He added his second of the day four minutes later at 33:49, scoring on a cross by Ethan Baltier. Vela added a second assist on the goal.

Lubbock Christian added to its total in the second half on a UTPB own goal at 72:08.

The Falcons out-shot LCU on the day by a total of 14-12, but the Chaps were able to get seven shot attempts on net to just one by the Falcons.

UTPB returns home in two days, hosting Eastern New Mexico Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
