Men's Soccer on Wrong End of Late Goal Barrage in 2-1 Loss

9/21/2013 4:59:00 PM

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team rebounded to tie its game against Houston-Victoria just four minutes after giving up the first goal of the game late in the second half, but the Jaguars found the game-winner less than five minutes later as the #13 Falcons suffered a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon in Victoria, Texas.

Nathan Cotterell scored his seventh goal of the season for UTPB, scoring off of a deflection at 77:49 in the second half to tie the game at 1-1.

Houston-Victoria had scored the game's first goal just four minutes prior on a goal by Stanley Smith. The Jaguars got the game-winning goal in the 83rd, taking a 2-1 lead as Daniel Lozano found the back of the net.

The Falcons return to action early next week, traveling to Lubbock, Texas, for a 3:30 p.m. contest Monday afternoon against Lubbock Christian.
