UTPB baseball ended the 2013 season on a winning note at Roden Field Saturday afternoon, defeating Oklahoma Panhandle State 4-1 in the final game of the year. The Aggies rallied in game one of the day in taking a 9-7 win in the one conference game of the day.

The Falcons responded after OPSU scored its lone run of the game to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with four unanswered runs, starting with a base hit on a single by Neil Madsen to score Tyler Forney. The team's second run came when Madsen got caught up in a rundown between first and second, allowing Ozzie Bueno to score from third to put UTPB up 2-1.

Michael Rice drove in the team's third run in the fourth, singling down the line into left to drive home Mike Briseno from second.

Madsen recorded his second RBI of the game in the fifth, driving a ball through the right side to plate Forney for a 4-1 lead.

UTPB built a 6-0 lead through four innings in game one of the day, but Oklahoma Panhandle State out-scored the Falcons 7-1 in the fifth through seventh innings, using a four-run seventh to tie the game at 7-7.

The Aggies took the lead in the top of the 11th when Alfonso Gonzales singled into center with runners on first and third to score one and take an 8-7 lead. They added a second run on a bases-loaded walk to force in a second run of the inning.

Madsen was on fire at the plate on the day, getting hits in six of his seven official at bats and reaching base in eight of nine plate appearanes. He led the team with three runs driven in while Forney scored a team-high four times on the afternoon.
