UTPB baseball missed out on a chance to earn the weekend sweep over McMurry Saturday afternoon in a 6-0 shutout against the War Hawks at Walt Driggers Field in Abilene, Texas.
The Falcons fell behind by two in the bottom of the second, giving up a pair of runs on a two-run double by Adam Neubauer to score runners that had each reached base on errors earlier in the inning.
McMurry added two runs off of four hits in each the seventh and eighth innings to wrap up the six run victory.
Tyler Forney and
Mike Briseno each had two hits in the first and third spots of the UTPB batting order to lead the team's offense.
The Falcons left a pair of runners on base in each the fourth and fifth innings while stranding seven total runners in the game.
Travis Wilcox was charged with the loss, giving up four runs, one earned, in a seven inning appearance off of seven hits. He allowed no walks and struck out four.
