Women's Basketball Stumbles at Oklahoma Christian

UTPB women's basketball struggled to contain Oklahoma Christian Monday afternoon, suffering a 93-66 defeat on the road in Edmond, Okla.

Each team scored on its first two possessions of the day as Zeslie Johnson tied the game on the Falcons first shot of the game and Katreese Locket hit a basket to tie the game at 4-4.

Oklahoma Christian needed little time to start pulling away stretching out its lead to 11 points behind an 11-2 run to lead 18-7 just four and a half minutes in.

The Eagles led by as many as 22 points in the first before going into halftime with a 19 point lead.

Locket led all players in the second half with 12 points, but OCU out-scored the Falcons 51-43 in the 27-point loss.

Locket led UTPB with 14 points while Valerie Barigga added 13 points and Tori Cooks scored a season-high 10 points.

Roz Hamilton paced all scorers with 18 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting for Oklahoma Christian.

The Falcons are back at home for their final game of 2013 Wednesday night at 5:30 against Midwestern State.
