11/16/2013 4:37:00 PM

Dwayne Soders racked up his fourth double-double in as many games this season, setting season-highs in both points and rebounds with 27 and 24, respectively, as UTPB men's basketball won its third straight game and second of the weekend with a 91-81 win over Arlington Baptist in Laredo, Texas.

Thomas Feeney connected on four straight shots to score eight in a row and give UTPB a 14-2 lead five and a half minutes into the game.

The Falcons led by 12 with just 2:31 left in the first half, but the Patriots erased most of the UTPB lead with a 10-point run before halftime to leave the Falcons leading by two at 46-44 at the break.

Madison Turner stepped up in the second half to help carry the Falcons, scoring 18 of his 25 points after halftime on 6-of-7 shooting from the field as his pair of threes helped the Falcons rebuild their lead out to 12 points at 7:51.  UTPB closed out the game hitting 12 free throws in a row in a half where it shot 79 percent at the line in the 10-point win.

Feeney added 16 points on the day and matched Soders with three steals in the winning effort.

The Falcons are back on the road next weekend, traveling to Kingsville, Texas, for games against Texas A&M - Kingsville and Cameron.
