Nathan Cotterell added to his scoring lead with a pair of goals and
Angelo Farrow and
Caio Toth each scored their first goals as Falcons as UTPB picked up a 4-2 win over McMurry Monday afternoon in Abilene, Texas.
Cotterell tallied his brace in succession for UTPB, giving the team a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, and scoring his 13th goal of the season six minutes later to put the Falcons on top 2-0 at 19:35 of the first half.
Farrow found the back of the net for the first time in his UTPB career, giving the Falcons a 3-0 advantage with his goal at 32:37.
McMurry grabbed one back in the first on a goal at 39:14 from David Cato to trail 3-1 at halftime.
Michael Westerman pulled the War Hawks to within one 10 minutes into the second, scoring to close the gap to 3-2 with just under 35 minute remaining in regulation.
But Toth ended any chance that McMurry had late in the match, scoring his first of the season at 85:21 to wrap up the UTPB victory.
The Falcons held an enormous shot advantage in both total shots and shots-on-goal, leading McMurry 22-9 in total shots and 12-4 in total shots-on-goal. Cotterell led the Falcons with 11 total shots and seven scoring chances.
UTPB returns home for its final two matches of the season, first hosting Oklahoma Christian Saturday night at 5 p.m.
