The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team scored in the 75th minute to tie its game against Newman for the second time of the afternoon, but the Jets took advantage of a penalty kick awarded in the 80th minute to defeat the Falcons 3-2 Monday afternoon in Wichita, Kan.
German Chavarria tied the contest at 1-1 at 32:36 of the first on a header from
Nathan Cotterell 12 minutes after Newman scored the first of the day by Taylor Henry.
The Falcons had to come from behind once again in the second half after a goal from Robery Butler in the 66th put the Jets back in the lead. Cotterell took a pass from
Tyler Gibson on the left wing to put in his 11th goal of the season and knot the match at 2-2.
Zac Gramke put NU back in the lead for the third time in the game, scoring on a PK at 79:02 for the game's final score.
The Falcons remain on the road next weekend, traveling first to St. Edward's Saturday afternoon for a 12 p.m. match against the Hilltoppers.
