The University of Texas of the Permian Basin volleyball team wrapped up a 2-0 weekend with its second five-set victory in three days in a 21-25, 25-12, 25-27, 25-16 and 15-10 win over Texas A&M International Saturday afternoon in Laredo, Texas.

With their backs against the wall having dropped a tightly-contested third set to trail 2-1, the Falcons came out ready to play in the fourth. UTPB fought back from trailing 5-2 to lead 7-5 on five straight points that included three service aces from Ariana Gallardo. Behind 12-11 a few points later, the Falcons rattled off eight of nine to lead 19-13, and broken up by a Dustdevils point, UTPB scored three more consecutive points to take a commanding 22-14 lead. Keeley Brogdon closed out the nine-point fourth set win with a pair of kills to head to a decisive fifth set.

UTPB carried the momentum into the fifth, again having to recover from trailing early on, this time 4-2 in the abbreviated set, to come back to take a 6-5 lead. The Falcons then closed out the set on a 9-5 run to claim the five-set win.

Melissa Lusk led the Falcons in kills for the fourth straight match with a match-best 16 kills on the afternoon while hitting .310. Terra Peil added 14 kills with an incredible .538 hitting percentage as the Falcons out-hit the Dustdevils .230 to .138 for the match.
