The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team entered halftime trailing #12 West Texas A&M 2-0, but the nationally-ranked Buffs came out of the intermission to score six goals in defeating UTPB 8-0 Tuesday night in Canyon, Texas.
WTAMU got goals in the opening 10 minutes from George Beasley and Conrod Goulbourne to take a 2-0 lead, and that advantage stood up throughout the remainder of the first half.
West Texas A&M scored six more times in the second half, scoring two straight from Reese Barden with two more consecutive goals by Chase Withrow as all six goals in the final 45 were scored off the bench.
UTPB stayed close in the shot count in the first half with nine attempts to the Buffs' 12, but were out-shot 13-2 after halftime.
