Box Score
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team looked good to continue it's winning ways in 2012, but surrendered a pair of goals in the final 10 minute Saturday afternoon to drop a 2-1 decision to St. Mary's at the UTPB Soccer Field.
Jose Anchondo gave the Falcons a 1-0 advantage halfway through the first period, scoring from nearly 40 yards out on a ball that looped over the St. Mary's goalkeeper.
St. Mary's eventually knotted the contest at 1-1 as Armando Macias punched in a corner kick from Alexis Santamaria in the 83rd minute.
The Rattlers scored the game's deciding goal on a breakaway from Andrew Carrasco from Devon Foster, netting the game-winner with just 24 seconds remaining in the game.
Tyler Gibson led all players with four shots, three of them coming on net as St. Mary's held a slight 12-11 shot advantage.
UTPB returns to action later this coming week, hosting Oklahoma Christian at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.
