LUBBOCK – Lubbock Christian scored 11 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift it to a 15-5 win over The University of Texas of the Permian Basin baseball team.  The victory comes 12 days after the Falcons took a 4-2 victory over the Chaps in Midland.

Lubbock Christian picked up 10 of its 17 hits in the seventh – all of which were singles after trailing 5-4 going into the frame.

Brian Brademan got the Falcons on the board early, hitting a two-run homer over the left field fence in the first, scoring Mike Briseno, who led off the game with an infield single.  Tanor Tinely also singled in the inning as the Falcons picked up three of their eight hits in the game in the opening frame.

The Chaps would cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo homer by Richard Bohlken.  The Falcons added to their lead in the top of the sixth after plating three runs off two hits and took advantage of a Lubbock Christian error.  Stephen Hrebicek led off the inning with a walk before Briseno picked up the second of his three hits with a double down the left line to move Hrebicek to third.  Brademan reached on an infield error but was still credited with the RBI as Hrebicek made it 3-1.  Brademan would later steal second before Artie Carrera walked to load the bases.  Fabian Rivera gave the Falcons a 5-1 lead with a single to center to score Briseno and Brademan.

Lubbock Christian kept the game close by answering with three runs of its own off two hits and two Falcon errors.

Five UTPB pitchers combined to strike out six batters, including five by starter Jacob Ricossa, who tossed 5.2 innings where he gave up seven hits and one earned run.

The Falcons will finally return home on Tuesday to host the University of the Southwest for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
