SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's basketball team held St. Mary's to just 12 second half points and got 26 points from its bench to hold on for a 41-38 victory over the Rattlers.

Erik Martin put in 15 points for the Falcons to lead all scorers and was the only player on either team to finish in double-figures.  Both teams had shooting woes as they shot under 40 percent from the field but six three-point baskets proved to be the difference in the victory.

St. Mary's failed to score in the game's final 3:44 and although the Falcons didn't take full advantage, they did score the game's final four points, pushing them to victory.

UTPB has now won three-straight Heartland Conference games and are now 9-12 overall and 3-5 in league play.  The Falcons will remain on the road this weekend when they head to Laredo to take on Texas A&M International on Saturday at 2 p.m.
