Eastern New Mexico scored three first half goals and eventually rode that momentum to a 5-1 victory over The University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team.

The Greyhounds dominated offensively, taking 22 shots, including 11 on goal, while holding the Falcons to just 10 shots, four of which were on goal.

Rodrigo Pontes gave the Greyhounds a quick 1-0 lead after scoring an unassisted goal under three minutes into the contest. His header found the back of the net from 10 yards out. Just under three minutes later, Abayneh Crosby made it 2-0 when Kal Herbert crossed a ball from the left side which he headed in the left side of the goal. Eastern New Mexico would eventually lead 3-0 when Herbert scored after taking a through pass from Anthony Bardon.

The Greyhounds would strike again, this time it was Bardon at the 54 minute mark when he chipped the ball over UTPB goal keeper Craig Branum's head to make it 4-0. Tyler Gibson finally put the Falcons on the board when he converted a penalty kick at the 85:34 mark.

The momentum would not last long as Tyler Wagely put the finishing touches on the Falcons with eight minutes to play after dribbling past a defender before his shot found the lower right back of the net.

UTPB will hit the road for the first time this season when it heads to Alamosa, Colo. for a matchup against Adams State on Friday at 1 p.m.
