LUBBOCK - Brittany Johnson and Bailey Jones was a two-headed monster for Lubbock Christian as the Chaps took a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 26-24) win over The University of Texas of the Permian Basin volleyball team.
The duo combined for 22 of the Chaps' 46 kills on the night and committed just six errors between them as they improved to 11-2 on the year. Not only did Lubbock Christian have a one-two punch offensively, they also picked up 50 digs with three players tallying at least 10 for the match.
The Falcons on the other hand, picked up 32 kills on the night led by
Melissa Lusk's 10.
Terra Peil had six while
Heather Sanchez had five. Defensively,
Danae Eckart led the way with 14 digs while Sanchez had 10.
Jamie Rodell tallied a team-high five block assists as the rest of the team finished with 12 total along with a block solo from Lusk.
The Falcons fell to 7-6 and will jump back into Heartland Conference play on Thursday when they travel to San Antonio to take on St. Mary's at 7 p.m.
