The University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's basketball team remained undefeated on its home court as the Falcons cruised to an 89-33 win over Sul Ross.  UTPB is now 8-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the Falcon Dome. 
 
Jessi Cowden led the Falcons with 14 points while Tina Lira and Taniqua Ards put in 11 and 10 respectively.  UTPB was efficient from the field, hitting 53.7 percent from the field and turned the ball over a season-low 12 times.  The Falcons also played stifling defense, causing 28 Lobo turnovers which resulted in 46 points and held Sul Ross to 29.3 percent shooting from the field. 
 
UTPB opened the game with a 7-0 run before Sul Ross finally scored their first bucket of the game at the 16:31 mark.  The baskets kept coming for the Falcons as they led 50-14 at the half. 
 
The route continued in the second half as UTPB led 73-23 after Shayla Estes knocked down a three-pointer with 10:21 left and would eventually lead by as many as 58 with under two minutes to go. 
 
The Falcons will enjoy their Christmas holiday as they are idle until Dec. 29 when they host Henderson State at 7 p.m.
