AUSTIN –
The Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead over St. Edward's, but the Hilltoppers scored four goals in the second half en route to a 5-2 win over the University of Texas of the Permian Basin men's soccer team.

German Chavarria gave the Falcons an early lead when he broke a scoreless tie at the 36:50 mark when he scored on a free kick. Tyler Gibson quickly made it 2-0 less than two minutes later when he scored from short range after goal keeper Matt Moore dropped the ball in front of the goal.

Just as the Falcons thought they would take their 2-0 lead into the half, Joeski Williams was the recipient of a penalty kick at the 44:14 mark which he made count. The start of the second half saw St. Edward's tie the match one minute into the second when JR Ellis took a pass from Matt McLaughlin which he scored from short range.

Ellis' goal was the start of three more in the second half which propelled the Hilltoppers to their tenth win of the season and sixth in the Heartland Conference.

UTPB had eight shots on the day, but made them count as five were on goal, while St. Edward's offense was in full swing as 15 of its 27 shots were on goal. Chris Benavides had a season-high 10 saves on the day, while Moore had three for the Hilltoppers.

The Falcons finished their season with a 3-14 overall and 3-5 Heartland Conference mark.
