box score

Dallas Baptist scored five second half goals to take a 5-1 over the University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's soccer team.

Both teams played to a 0-0 first half tie, but just over two minutes into the second frame Kourtney Edwards put the Patriots on the board when she headed in a cross from Allyson Bales.

The lead would not last long as the Falcons tied the match at one when Kourtnye Chandler fired in a deflected shot and found the lower left back of the net at the 52:27 mark.  The momentum was short lived after Brittany Layne scored back-to-back goals, giving Dallas Baptist the lead for good.  Her first score came at the 55:57 mark and the second nearly nine minutes later.  Hope Adams and Allyson Bales would close out the scoring at the 77 and 79 minute marks.

UTPB took more shots, 22-21 than DBU, and both teams had eight shots on goal.  Victoria Ramirez had three saves on the night for the Falcons while DBU's Haley Corbell had six.

The Falcons will be back in action Saturday when they host Newman at 1 p.m.
