Eastern New Mexico's Michael Stewart scored with less than nine minutes to go in regulation to break a 1-1 tie, giving the No. 23 Greyhounds a 2-1 victory over the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
The Greyhounds broke a scoreless tie when Diego Santos received a deflected ball off the UTPB goalkeeper and hit the bottom right corner of the net at the 22:31 mark to give Eastern New Mexico the early lead.  The Falcons took the momentum back when Tyler Gibson dribbled through the Greyhound defense 30 yards from the goal and beat ENMU goalkeeper Orlando Rodriguez to even the score at one.

The match would remain that way for the rest of the half and much of the second.  Eastern New Mexico threatened several times, but four key saves by UTPB goalie Chris Benavides kept the Greyhounds at bay until Stewart's header from Kal Herbert proved to be the game-winner.

The Falcons had nine total shots, three of which were on goal, while the Greyhounds took 15.  Eastern New Mexico improved to 8-3-1 while UTPB fell to 1-10 on the season.

The Falcons will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Wichita, Kans. To take on Newman in a Heartland Conference contest.  UTPB will return home on Oct. 22 when it hosts St. Mary's at 2 p.m.
