Okeoma Okoro

Okeoma “Oak” Okoro began as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at The University of Texas Permian Basin in September 2025. His first year he is working with the Falcons' men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and baseball programs. He was previously a part-time flexologist at StretchLab in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Okoro earned his Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Chatham University (Pittsburg, Pa.) in 2025. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon (Eugene, Ore.) in 2022. In his final year at UO, he worked part-time as a center assistant at a student resource center geared toward helping Black students navigate their way in a predominantly white institution (or PWI).

Originally from Edmonds, Washington, Okoro played varsity basketball his junior and senior year at Meadowdale High School. Okeoma has had plenty of volunteer experiences dating back to high school. He volunteered as a student orientation leader for incoming high school freshmen and as an on-field medical assistant for a sports medicine class.

He loves to take walks, work out, discover new music, and play Xbox sometimes.
