Leonard Hunt started as running backs coach for the UTPB football team in May 2026.

Hunt spent six seasons at Trinity Valley Community College as an assistant coach. He coached tight ends and running backs, and also worked as recruting coordinator, special teams coordinator and passing game coordinator.

He previously served as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Navarro College from 2018-20. He was also the interim offensive line coach at Navarro during the winter and spring of 2020. Under his guidance, the Bulldogs amassed 1,568 yards rushing by the running backs group in 2019, the second highest total by a group in the conference. In 2019, Hunt helped Navarro obtain the regional title against NMMI. In 2018, he helped Navarro get to a Bowl Game to play Hutchinson.

Hunt also spent two seasons as offensive coordinator with the Texas Express semi pro club, which averaged 41.5 points per game and 440 yards per game during his tenure.

He is a graduate of Palestine Westwood High School, Navarro College, and Texas A&M Commerce.
