Jordan Iosefa was hired as the next defensive line coach for the UTPB football team in January 2026, bringing Big 12 experience and a player-centered coaching approach to Head Coach Chris Softley’s staff.

Iosefa was hired as a football coach at UTPB due to his exceptional ability to develop players, foster strong team dynamics, and his proven track record at multiple prestigious programs, most recently at TCU in the Big 12. Known for his infectious energy, relatability, and passion for the game, Iosefa brings a unique skill set that allows him to connect with athletes both on and off the field. His experience as a former player at USC and Pacific University, combined with his coaching success, particularly at TCU, makes him a valuable asset to UTPB’s football program. Iosefa’s ability to mentor and develop players, combined with his leadership and team-first mentality, aligns perfectly with the program’s vision for long-term growth and success. His reputation for building strong relationships with players, staff, and recruits, along with his proven success in the Big 12, made him the ideal candidate to help elevate UTPB’s football program to the next level.

Iosefa comes to UTPB with proven Big 12 coaching success after serving as the assistant defensive line coach at TCU.

Iosefa was previously a defensive graduate assistant at Fresno State University beginning in February 2023. In his one season with the Bulldogs, Iosefa worked alongside Jethro Franklin and the defensive line.
 
Iosefa got his coaching career started at Pacific University (Oregon) as the tight ends coach in 2022.

He played collegiate football as a linebacker at USC from 2016-20. He medically retired ahead of the 2021 season after battling knee injuries, and stayed around the USC program as an offensive student assistant working with the offensive line and the tight ends.
 
As a student-athlete at USC, Iosefa totaled 78 tackles, including 7 for losses (with 3 sacks), 6 deflections, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in his career. He appeared in 36 games, with 16 starts. He was a starter in 2018 and a team captain in 2019.
 
He earned his bachelor’s degree in non-governmental organizations and social change at USC in the spring of 2021 before working on a master’s in sociology at Fresno State.
 
Iosefa is a native of Waipahu, Hawai’i, and attended St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawai’i. His real first name is Loveni.
