John Cisneros, a native of Houston, Texas, starts his first year as an assistant on the UTPB football staff coaching the offensive line for the 2026 season. He previously coached the offensive line for two seasons (2024-2025) at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Cisneros played on the offensive line for Mount Union all four years and was a member of the 2022 Stagg Bowl Runner-Up team. He was previously an all-district selection at Conroe High School.
Cisneros brings a unique combination of championship playing experience, coaching experience, recruiting, video, scouting, analytics, and player development to the UTPB football program. A Houston, Texas, native and Conroe High School graduate, Cisneros continued his playing career at the University of Mount Union, where he became a four-time OAC Champion and competed in the 2022 Stagg Bowl. After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching at Mount Union, where he became a two-time OAC Champion as a coach and coached in the 2024 Stagg Bowl.
Cisneros has been involved in virtually every area of a successful football operation, beginning with his experience as a player and continuing through roles in video operations, facility operations, recruiting, scouting, analytics, and coaching. His background has given him a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to prepare a football team at a championship level.
As an offensive line coach, Cisneros emphasizes fundamentals, technique, physicality, communication, football IQ, preparation, and accountability. He works to develop offensive linemen who understand not only how to execute their assignments, but also why those assignments matter within the overall offensive scheme. His experience evaluating defensive fronts, identifying stunts and pressures, developing run-game concepts, and building pass-protection plans allows him to provide players with detailed preparation for game day.
Cisneros earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Business from the University of Mount Union with minors in Business Administration and Coaching Administration, and later earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA). His combination of academic preparation, championship-level playing and coaching experience, and diverse football operations background provides him with a strong foundation as he continues his coaching career at UTPB.
