It was announced in August 2022 that Jared Heumann would take over as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at UT Permian Basin after serving as an assistant since December of 2020. He then became the Director of Strength and Conditioning a year later and is now in his third year as the director and sixth year overall at UTPB.

At UTPB he covers football and women’s basketball while also overseeing the entire Strength and Conditioning department
 
He previously held the roles of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at UTPB.

Heumann came to UTPB after serving as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. At Shippensburg, Heumann worked with the football, women's soccer, field hockey, wrestling, baseball, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's track and field teams.

Heumann 
also worked with BX Player Development in Binghamton, New York, after graduating from Bryan University in Tempe, Arizona. As an intern at Binghampton, he worked with all 21 sports teams, but primary worked with Men’s and women’s Basketball, baseball, wrestling, men’s lacrosse, and volleyball

Heumann played football at Hartwick College (Onenota, N.Y.) in 2015 before graduating from Bryan University in December 2019 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Fitness Training and Exercise Science. He is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology at UTPB.

Heuman is orginally from Vestal, New York, and now live in Odessa, Texas. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and USAW.
