Jagan Daughters began as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2026-27. Daughters enters his fourth season coaching at the collegiate level after transitioning into coaching following his playing career at Dean College.

Daughters came to UTPB from Lone Star Conference rival Angelo State University (San Angelo, Texas), where he was a graduate assistant coach during the 2025-26 season and worked under Head Coach Vinay Patel alongside Connor Moore and Cole Rabedeaux. During his season in San Angelo, ASU had the second-ranked defense in the LSC and ranked third in the conference in home attendance. He helped coach Third-Team All-LSC selection Jhordan Ryan and Honorable Mention All-LSC selection Jordan Crawford.

Daughters was previously a graduate assistant coach under Head Coach Anthony Monson at Kansas Wesleyan University (Salina, Kan.) for two seasons (2023-25), where he was a finalist for Kansas Weslyan Athletics' 2024-25 Assistant Coach of the Year Award. During his time, KWU was a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) runner-up and was the No. 5-seed in the NAIA National Tournament. At Kansas Wesleyan, Daughters helped coach Alex Littlejohn (2023-24 First Team All-KCAC, 2024-25 Second Team All-KCAC, KWU All-Time Leader in Field Goals Made, Points, and Rebounds) Jun Murdock (2023-24 First Team All-KCAC, 2023-24 KCAC All-Defensive Team, 2023-24 Third Team NAIA All-American), Evens Apollon (2024-25 KCAC All-Defensive Team, 2024-25 NAIA National Leader in Blocks Per Game), Carson Jones (2024-25 KCAC All-Freshman Team), and Easton Hunter (KWU All Time Leader in 3-Pointers Made).

Daughters has also spent time working as a coach at the following camps: Buzz Williams Basketball Camp (Texas A&M University; College Station, Texas; June 2024), Dayton Flyers Basketball Camp (University of Dayton; Dayton, Ohio; June 2025), and Jerome Tang Basketball Camp (Kansas State University; Manhattan, Kan.; June 2025).

After starting his collegiate career as a redshirt men's basketball player at Blinn College (2019-20), Daughters earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Management with a double major in Sport Management from Dean College in 2023, where he had a 4.0 GPA and was a member of both the men's basketball (2020-23) and men's lacrosse teams (2022-23). He then graduated with his MBA with a Sport Management Concentration from Kansas Wesleyan University (3.9 GPA) in 2025 and his Master of Science (M.S.) in Business Data Science and Analytics from Angelo State University. in 2026

As a student-athlete at Dean, Daughters earned numerous academic awards. He was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society as a junior, was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference Team in both 2021-22 and 2022-23, and earned 2021-22 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court recognition. As a senior, he also earned the Dean College Dr. Karen L. Sykes Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Award, and had the highest Male Athlete Cumulative GPA in Dean College Athletics (4.0). He also worked as an assistant in the sports information office and as a social media intern for the men's basketball team in his time at Dean.

A native of College Station, Texas, Daughters played high school basketball at Allen Academy (Bryan, Texas), where he was a 2019 TAPPS 2A Basketball State Champion 

Daughters comes from a basketball family, with his brother Hogan currently serving as a high school basketball coach at Franklin High School.

Daughters enjoys spending time with family and hunting.
