Henry Wang begins his first year as a Graduate Assistant Golf Coach at The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2026-27.
Wang played for the Falcons during the 2025-26 season. He played in two tournaments and six rounds, had a 77.6 adjusted scoring average, and finished the season ranked No. 141 in the South Central Region. Wang (77-80-83; 240; +24) made his Falcon debut and tied for 76th in the first tournament of the Spring at the Rattler Invitational. His best performance of the season came at the Shadow Valley Invitational, where Wang (80-79-76; 235; +19) improved his score during each round and finished strong at four-over-par during the final round to pull into a tie for 64th place. Wang was named to the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA for both semesters.
Wang previous played at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (2022-25), where he shot a 69 in his first collegiate round and had a low round of 68 in collegiate competition. He was named to the President's List in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024; to the Dean's List in Fall 2022, Spring 2023 and Fall 2024; and to the 2024-25 Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Wang comes from Auckland, New Zealand, where he attended Macleans High School. Helped his school to Auckland Schools Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020 while helping his school to New Zealand Secondary School National Championships in 2018 and 2019. He was a member of the Auckland Men’s Golf Team and was also the captain of the Auckland U19 Men’s Golf Team. He is a two-time Pakuranga Golf Club Stroke play Champion while also winning a match play championship. Wang finished second at the U15 New Zealand South Island Stroke Play event while also finishing third in the U15 New Zealand Stroke Play event. He went on to finish third in the U19 New Zealand North Island Stroke Play event while being named New Zealand Junior Interprovincials Player of the Year in 2019 while winning the event in 2019 and 2020.
