Grant Reed began as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2025-26. At UTPB, he covers volleyball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's golf, all while also assisting with football.
Reed was previously a Strength & Conditioning Intern at Texas State University (San Marcos, Texas) in 2024-25, where he worked with football and assisted with weight room training, nutrition, weight room management, and traveled with the team to the First Responder Bowl. He coached weightlifting for three years at Texas State (coached both youth and adult athletes).
Reed served as President of the Texas State Weightlifting team for two years and was a member of the weightlifting team from 2021-2025. He earned first place at the 2025 Texas State Championships and the 2024 Under-23 Nationals, and was second at the 2024 University Natioanls and the 2023 Under-25 Nationals, and won the 2024 Southwest Best Male Lifter Award.
Reed played football as an offensive lineman at Conway High School (Conway, Ark.), and also wrestled and was a thrower for the track & field team.
Reed graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and minor in Business Administration from Texas State University in 2025.
Reed enjoys competing in Olympic Weightlifting and has his USAW Level 1 coaching certification (2024).
