Biography
2026 (Junior):
Started in 18 of her 20 games... Hit .176 with three runs, six hits, one double, three RBI’s, seven total bases, two walks, three hit by pitches, a .282 on-base percentage and a .206 slugging percentage in 34 at bats... Was tied for second the Falcons in hit by pitches... Ranked fifth on the team with 22 defensive assists and helped turn two doubles plays playing mostly at third base... In two early-season games vs. New Mexico Highlands, Balcazar had an RBI-walk and scored a run in the first matchup (Jan. 31), and had her first two hits of the season in the second matchup (Feb. 1)... Played strong defense at third base (5 assists) in UTPB's 2-1 10-inning win over Texas A&M-Kingsville (Feb. 27). A nice throw across the diamond by Balcazar on a ball just fair at third base resulted in the second out of the top of the second inning, and then she did it again to record the first out in the top of the fifth inning. Balcazar's strong defensive performance continued with another nice play on a long throw for the second out in the top of the ninth inning... Hit a two-out, two-run double to left center field and later came around to score to make it a 3-0 Falcons' lead in the third inning, helping account for all three runs in UTPB's 3-2 game-two upset win at No. 12 nationally-ranked Angelo State (Apr. 2). It was the Falcons' first-ever win against Angelo State in San Angelo and was UTPB's first nationally-ranked win since April 22, 2022... Named to the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
South Mountain CC (2024-2025):
Balcazar appeared in 76 games over the past two seasons for the Cougars, totaling 67 hits, 47 runs, seven doubles, six home runs, 53 RBI's and 17 walks... As a sophomore, Balcazar appeared in 42 games and batted .321 with 31 runs, 35 hits, one double, four home runs, 33 RBI's and 12 walks with a .424 on-base and a .440 slugging percentage... She batted .293 with 21 runs, 22 hits, one double, three home runs, 21 RBI's and eight walks in 30 ACCAC games... She had nine multi-hit games, including a season-high three hits four times... She had eight multi-RBI games, including a season-high four RBI's against Glendale CC on Feb. 15, 2025... Balcazar homered against Yavapai College, Phoenix College, Mesa CC, and GCC in 2025 and posted a .914 fielding percentage in 105 chances and was a part of four double plays... As a freshman in 2024, Balcazar appeared in 34 games and batted .364 with 16 runs, 32 hits, six doubles, two home runs, 20 RBI's and five walks... She had a season-high three hits four times and scored a season-high two runs three times... Balcazar drove in a season-high five RBI's and finished 2 for 4 with two runs and two home runs against Phoenix College on Apr. 27, 2024; had three RBI's, two hits, and a double at Mesa CC on Apr. 13, 2024; and finished 3-for-4 with a run, a double and three RBI's against Gateway CC on April 20, 2024... Earned Third-Team All-Academic honors in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Bel Air High School:
Graduated in the top 10 percent of the class of 2023 at Bel Air High School... Earned three First Team All-District honors (2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23)... Named to Second Team All-City in 2020-21... Named a member of the athletic leadership council for the YSleta Independent School District... Was a student in the Bel Air High School Health Magnet Program... Was a member of the National Honor Society (2021-22, 2022-23).
