Marina (Nina) Bermea enters her first season with UT Permian Basin. She joins the Falcons after spending two eventful years in Meridian, Mississippi.
Prior to joining UTPB, Bermea served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach from 2018-20 at Meridian Community College. During her second season with MCC, Bermea simultaneously took on the Head Coach position at Lamar School and led the Raiders to an undefeated District title (6-0) as well as runners-up at the State Championship. She also helped Lamar School to accrue the most wins in a single season with a 10-5 overall record.
While in Mississippi, she also coached youth club soccer for Alliance FC, and played in the WPSL for the MS Blues in addition to coaching the team’s reserve squad.
An Odessa native, Bermea opted to attend the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio where she played Division I soccer from 2013-17 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Special Education. During this time she was also the assistant coach for Incarnate Word High School in 2016.
During the summers of 2015-17, Bermea spent her time in Dallas playing for Texas Spurs in the WPSL.
A 2013 graduate from Odessa High School, Bermea holds a Goalkeeping Level 1 certification from the United Soccer Coaches organization. She is currently pursuing her United States Soccer Federation National ‘D’ License.
