AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 32 games and started 31, including three in the circle as a pitcher…Collected 15 hits in 76 at-bats for a .197 batting average…Had three multiple hit games, including a 2-of-4 performance against the University of the Southwest, a 2-for-3 game at Sul Ross and went 2-for-3 at home against Texas A&M International…Had five extra base hits that included three doubles and two home runs and collected 14 RBI…In the circle she went 1-1 in three appearances with six strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched with a 9.19 ERA.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Odessa High School where she hit .309 as a senior and had a fielding percentage of .983 and was dominant as a pitcher with a 0.65 ERA…As a junior she was named to the all-district team as a utility player and was named the Don Maddox MVP as a junior…Helped her team win a district title as a junior…Also played two seasons of basketball.

PERSONAL: Courtney Cernoch was born Feb. 11, 1991 in Odessa, Texas and is the daughter of Debbie and Charles Cernoch of Odessa.
