Brooke Johnson began as an Assistant Softball Coach at The University of Texas Permian Basin in July 2025.
Johnson attended Henderson State University (Arkadelphia, Ark.), where she played from 2022-2025, played for current UTPB Head Coach David Martinez during her first three seasons, played all four seasons at pitcher and first base, and was a member of the 2023 and 2024 Honorable Mention All-GAC Teams. She was selected as a 2024 GAC Elite Scholar Athlete, was also named as an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete, and was a two-time member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. As a senior in 2025, Johnson was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the second year in a row. The senior Health and Human Performance major from Rockwall, Texas, appeared in 21 games in the circle and 53 games at bat for the Reddies in her final season, hitting two home runs with 21 RBI's while striking out 57 batters in 74.1 innings pitched.
At Royse City High School (Royse City, Texas), Johnson lettered all four years in softball (2018-2021), was named the Co-MVP of District 13-5A, was named to the First-Team NFCA All-South Central Region Team, was named to the Texas Sports Writer’s Association All-State Team, was named to the Honorable Mention DFW Fastpitch All-Metroplex Team, and was an NFCA Scholar-Athlete who graduated sixth in her class.
A Rockwall, Texas, native, Johnson earned her Associate of Science degree from Paris Junior College in 2021, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Peformance from Henderson State in 2023, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and earned her Master of Science degree in Sports Administration from Henderson State in 2025.
In her spare time she enjoys hiking, playing pickelball and giving lessons.
