2025-26 (Senior):
Senior Captain... Finished his fourth season competing with the Falcons... Competed in all nine of the team’s meets, including the RMAC Championship... Won the 200 butterfly (1:56.47) during the dual meet at Trinity...  Finished in second place in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:30.45 during his Senior Day vs. Southwestern... Set four season bests at the midseason meet (Tiger Invitational) and won the 200 butterfly, doing so with a time of 1:50.50 after also winning the prelims with a time of 1:50.87... Named UTPB's Men's Student-Athlete of the Month for January. Putnam won the 200 butterfly (1:51.07) and almost came from behind to win the 400 IM (second place; 4:07.72) in the dual meet at TCU. Then in a dual-meet victory at McMurry the following weekend, Putnam finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:46.09) and was second in the 100 butterfly (53.36). He was the first member of the UTPB men's swimming & diving team to be named an athlete of the month... Was tied for third on the Falcons (T48th overall) in scoring (19 points) at the RMAC Championship... His best individual finish at the conference championship meet was fifth place in the 200 butterfly after finishing third in the prelims with an NCAA "B" standard and school record time. In the 200 butterfly, Putnam finished third in the prelims with an NCAA Division II National "B" cut time of 1:50.85 seconds (altitude adjusted time of 1:49.65). Putnam's altitude adjusted time also broke the previous UTPB school record. Putnam then took fifth place with a time of 1:52.70 in the A Final, finishing just one spot away from all-conference honors. Putnam was the only Falcon with an NCAA "B" standard at the conference championship... Also made the B Final and finished 12th in the 200 IM (1:54.21), and was the first alternate (17th place) in the 400 IM (4:10.81)... Also helped the Falcons set a school record and finish in fifth in the 800 freestyle relay. The highlight of opening night at the RMAC Championship was the 800 freestyle relay, which saw the UTPB "A" relay team finish fifth overall with a time of 6:45.38 (altitude converted time of 6:40.58), destroying the previous UTPB school record. The Falcons were also just 1.83 seconds from overtaking Oklahoma Christian for fourth place... The final event of the conference meet was the 400 freestyle relay as the UTPB "B" relay team finished 11th, but had an even better time (3:02.85, altitude adjusted time of 3:02.45) than the UTPB "A" team and was just 0.04 seconds off of breaking the school record... Set two personal bests overall at the conference championship... Ranked seventh on the team and 70th in the RMAC according to FINA points following the conclusion of the conference championship... Picked for the Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators. for the second year in a row... Was also a member of the RMAC Academic Honor Roll for the third year in a row.

2024-25 (Junior):
Appeared in all nine meets on the year... Broke one school record this year in the 400 IM (3:58.96), surpassing the record set by his teammate, Evan Siegrist... In addition to swimming the fastest 400 IM time in school history, he posted the second-fastest 200 butterfly time in school history... Opened the season with two first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (22.57) and the 200 IM (2:00.39) to go along with a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke (55.82) and a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:22.75) at the McMurry/Adams State double dual meet (Oct. 4-5)... Secured first place in the 200 IM (1:59.10) in the dual meet at Henderson State (Oct. 24)... Followed that up by aiding the 400 medley relay team (3:39.56) to a first-place finish and helping both the 800 freestyle relay team (7:03.54) and the 300 backstroke relay team (2:42.23) to second-place finishes at the Hendrix Relays (Oct. 25)... Secured a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:59.98) at the Hendrix Classic (Oct. 26)... Won the 200 butterfly (1:56.23) and was second in the 200 IM (1:59.04) in the home dual meet vs. Trinity (Nov. 2)... Finished first in the 200 butterfly (1:50.34) and was third in the 400 IM (4:04.03) in the midseason meet (Tiger Invitational) at Trinity (Nov. 22-24)... Won the 100 butterfly (52.80) and was second in both the 1000 freestyle (10:12.07) and the 100 freestyle (49.62) at the McMurry/Austin College double dual meet (Dec. 7)... Won the 200 butterfly (2:00.99) in the tune-up meet (dual meet at Southwestern) before the conference meet (Jan. 25)... Made the A Final and finished eight in the 200 butterfly (1:55.81) at the RMAC Championships (Feb. 11-15), his third year in a row finishing in the top-eight in the 200 butterfly at the conference meet. He was also 11th in the 400 IM (4:03.96) and 12th in the 200 IM (1:53.81) while helping the Falcons finish fifth in the 800 freestyle relay (6:57.12) at the conference meet... Named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team... Also named to the RMAC Swimming & Diving Academic Honor Roll... Earned 2025 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Twin brother, Jack, attends the University of Houston to play water polo... Is a captain of UTPB's Overwatch 2 ESports Team... Coaches a swim team in Cypress, Texas, called the Cypress Cyclones... Both Owen and his brother are swim coaches in their free time.
