2025-26 (Redshirt Senior):
Completed his final season competing for the Falcons... Competed in all nine of the team’s meets, including the RMAC Championship... Finished third in the 500 freestyle at 5:00.99 in the season opener (dual meet at Oklahoma Christian) and finished third in the 100 IM with a time of 54.86 seconds at the Sam Freas Invitational... Swam anchor to help win the 400 medley relay (3:27.77) and added a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke (53.30) in the dual meet at Trinity... Finished in first place in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:25.35 and earned his second win of the day with a time of 47.97 seconds in the 100 freestyle during UTPB's home dual meet vs. Southwestern. Heelein also added a third-place finish in the 200 IM (2:03.48) to his Senior Day after taking home two first-place finishes earlier in the day... Set six season best times at the midseason meet (Tiger Invitational). In the men's meet, Heelein was second among all athletes with 61 points, three second-place finishes and two third-place finishes... On the first day of competition at the midseason meet, UTPB's "A" relay team (swam anchor) finished second and broke the school record in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:20.73, dropping 5.62 seconds off their seed time. Then in the 200 freestyle relay, the UTPB "A" relay team finished second again with a time of 1:23.09... Then during the second day of the midseason meet, Heelein earned a second second-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:41.17)... Then during the third and final day of the midseason meet, Heelein made the A Final and was fifth in the 100 freestyle (46.51), paced UTPB with a third-place finish in the 1650 freestyle (16:20.10), and in the final event of the meet, helped UTPB's 400 freestyle "A" relay team (swam anchor) finish second with a time of 3:04.17... Voted First Team Academic All-RMAC and helped UTPB break the school record in two relays and finish in fifth place in three relays at the RMAC Championship. Heelein swam anchor in all three of those relays for the UTPB "A" team... The highlight of opening night at the RMAC Championship was the 800 freestyle relay, which saw the UTPB "A" relay team (swam anchor) finish fifth overall with a time of 6:45.38 (altitude converted time of 6:40.58), destroying the previous UTPB school record. The Falcons were also just 1.83 seconds from overtaking Oklahoma Christian for fourth place... In the final race of the day on Thursday at the RMAC Championship, the UTPB 400 medley "A" relay team (swam anchor) finished fifth with a school record time of 3:19.85 (altitude adjusted time of 3:19.45)... Heelein also swam anchor on UTPB's 400 freestyle "A" relay team that competed in the championship heat and finished in fifth place (3:03.34)... Heelein made the B Final and finished 13th in both the 200 IM (1:55.16) and the 100 freestyle (46.05) at the conference championship... He was also the first alternative (17th place) in the 200 freestyle (1:42.75) and was 22nd with a time of 4:45.97 in the 500 freestyle.... Was T66th in scoring (8 points) and set one personal best and four season bests at the championship... Ranked fourth on the team and 61st in the RMAC according to FINA points following the conclusion of the conference championship... Picked for the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators... Was a member of the RMAC Academic Honor Roll for the second time in his career.
