Gabriela (Gaby) Maldonado Villa enters her first year as a Graduate Assistant Golf Coach at The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2025-26.

A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Maldonado Villa graduated cum laude and earned her BBA in management from UTPB in 2025. She is aiming to earn her MBA in analytics in 2027.

Maldonado Villa attended and played on the golf team at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) from 2021-2023 before transferred to UTPB in 2023.

Career Accomplishments:
At UAM

• 2022-23 Team Captain 
• 2022-23 All-GAC Women's Golf Second Team
• 2023 All-American Team
• Only player to make it to regionals in 2023 (Finished tied for 23rd place)
• UAM record for best scoring average in a single season
• Held 4.0 GPA

At UTPB

• Named to the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll (4.0 Spring semester)
• Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team (2024-25)
• Made the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in all four semesters at UTPB.
• 2024-2025 Team Captain

Personal Interest: I have a genuine love for the game of golf, both as a player and as a student of the sport. I enjoy staying involved and following the competitive side of the game. Outside of golf, I’m an avid reader; I find that reading helps me expand my perspective, stay inspired, and continue learning. I also enjoy drawing in my free time to unwind.
Both activities give me balance and focus, which I believe are important qualities to bring into a coaching and leadership role.
