UTPB Athletics

AS A JUNIOR: Started all 46 games where she was third on the team in hitting with a .360 batting average and hit a team-best 10 home runs…Picked up 54 hits which was second-best on the team, 20 of which were for extra bases…Garnered nine doubles and a triple and a team-best 48 RBI and 95 total bases…Went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI and two runs scored and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI against Panhandle State…Had 15 multi-hit games, including three three hit performances.

PRIOR TO UTPB: Played two seasons at Odessa College where she helped the Wranglers to the National Tournament and an eighth-place national finish.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Haltom High School where she was a four-time first team all-district selection…Was a four-year player in volleyball and was a four-time first team all-academic all-district.

PERSONAL: Angel Castro was born July 4, 1988 in Fort Worth, Texas and is the daughter of Jo Anne and Raul Castro of Fort Worth…Majoring in kinesiology.
