TYLER, Texas (September 16, 2026) – The UT Permian Basin women's soccer team let up three goals in the first half and ultimately fell 5-0 at The University of Texas at Tyler on Wednesday at Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
UT Tyler (2-1-1 overall, 2-0-0 Lone Star Conference) jumped on UTPB (3-3-0, 0-3-0) early, scoring a trio of first-half goals in the 13th, 25th and 27 minutes.
The Patriots led 15-0 on total shots and 10-0 on shots on goal in the first half, forcing goalkeeper
Valeria Delgado to make seven saves in the opening period. Eight of those 15 shots for UT Tyler came in the final 13 minutes of the first half after the first three goals were already scored.
In addition to scoring the first goal of the match, UT Tyler's Lexi Luff added a pair of assists as the match went on and assisted on the second goal of the match, the first of two goals scored by Ella Anderson.
Molly King fired UTPB's first shot of the match (shot on goal) early in the second half, and
Breanna Reagan and
Jayden Murgia each added two more shot attempts (1 shot on goal by each) the rest of the way.
After giving up 20 shots in each of the first two conference matches of the season, UTPB gave up 27 shots against UT Tyler.
The Patriots are coming off an 11-3-5 campaign in 2025, including a 7-2-5 record in Lone Star Conference play (sixth place). UT Tyler advanced to the LSC Semifinals before falling to eventual conference champion and top-seeded DBU. The Patriots also earned the program's first-ever postseason win since joining NCAA Division II with a 2-0 victory over fourth-seeded Angelo State University in the LSC Quarterfinals.
Week two of LSC action will conclude with the Falcons returning home to host Eastern New Mexico University starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, from the UTPB Soccer Field.
