ODESSA, Texas (March 30, 2026) – Due to rain expected later in the evening, the start times for The University of Texas Permian Basin softball team's home doubleheader vs. Angelo State University on Wednesday, April 1, have been moved up one hour from 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 2p.m. and 4 p.m. at the UTPB Softball Park.
UTPB (12-19 overall, 3-17 Lone Star Conference) is coming off a 6-3 win in game one at Texas A&M International University on Sunday (Mar. 29). It was the Falcons' first LSC win since February 27th and was just their second win vs. the Dustdevils since the end of the 2015 season. Angelo State (27-8, 16-4), meanwhile, is currently ranked No. 10 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top-25 Division II Poll, but dropped both of its games on Saturday (Mar. 28) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville by scores of 5-3 and 8-2.
Wednesday's games are just the beginning of home-and-home doubleheaders this week against Angelo State to begin the second half of LSC action.
- Update on 3/31/2026: Regarding the impending forecasted weather in San Angelo, Texas, the doubleheader hosted by Angelo State has been moved from Friday, April 3, to Thursday, April 2. The new scheduled game times are Thursday, April 2, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
