- Offensively, it was the first time UTPB hit at least two home runs in back-to-back games since February 5, 2023, in games vs. Adams State University and New Mexico Highlands University.
- Pitching-wise, it was the first time UTPB did not allow an earned run in back-to-back games since doing it in three straight games in 2022, starting with both games on February 8, 2022, vs. Southwestern (N.M.) and then in a third straight game in a 2-1 eight-inning defeat on February 11 vs. the University of Science and Arts. Lastly, it was the first time UTPB did not issue a single walk in back-to-back games since doing so in the first two games of its three-game series (Apr. 26-27, 2019) vs. Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
Coach's Quote:
- Coach David Martinez concluded, "Everybody contributed from the dugout, to defense, to hitting; we practiced a lot in a short amount of time this week, and we put it to work. We hit a lot the last two days; we really stressed it, so I was happy to see us come out and hit the ball well. Our pitchers attacked the zone quickly and worked ahead throughout both games. Hopefully these are two good wins for us to use rolling into Sunday."
