AUSTIN, Texas (October 11, 2025) – The University of Texas Permian Basin women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision on the road at St. Edward's University during the Hilltoppers' Senior Day on Saturday.
SEU (4-6-2 overall, 3-3-2 Lone Star Conference) fired nine shot attempts in both halves while UTPB (2-7-1, 1-7-0) reached 10 shot attempts for the first time in its last five matches.
On her own Senior Day, graduate student Karlee Friebele delivered a header into the back of the net in the 14th minute off a perfectly served corner kick from fellow graduate student Marie Hannedouche.
The Falcons had seven shot attempts and six corner kicks in the second half while goalkeeper
Valeria Delgado made four saves in each half.
It was the usual suspects offensively as
Allyson Reed had a match-high five shot attempts and had two shots on goal while
Cassandra Ramirez had four shots and one shot on goal.
UTPB did not get its first shots on goal of the match until Reed in the 54th minute and Ramirez in the 57th minute, causing Hilltoppers' goalkeeper Daria Schlumbohm to make back-to-back saves.
It was the sixth straight shutout loss for the Falcons, who have not scored a goal since September 20. In addition, the Falcons are now 0-13-2 all-time against the Hilltoppers with 1-0 losses during their last two meetings.
UTPB will remain on the road to start next week with a matchup at West Texas A&M University starting at 7 p.m. from Canyon, Texas.
