ODESSA, Texas – Today (Apr. 26) the NCAA announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2024 NCAA Division II men's golf championships – which will take place, May 9-11.
Of the 80 teams selected, The UT Permian Basin men's golf team was seeded No. 4 in the South Central Region out of 10 teams. There were six other teams chosen from the Lone Star Conference, No. 2 Oklahoma Christian, No. 3 Dallas Baptist, No. 6 Midwestern State, No. 7 West Texas A&M, No. 9 Western New Mexico and No. 10 UT Tyler.
The three other teams in the South Central Region are comprised of teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The South Central Region NCAA tournament will take place at New Mexico State University Golf Course, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 21-25 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida. The finals will be hosted by Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
