Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LUBBOCK, Texas - The University of Texas Permian Basin softball team opened their final road series of the season at Lubbock Christian in doubleheader action on Thursday at Maner Park. The Falcon offense was kept quiet, falling 8-0 in both games.

Melayna Lopez and Kylie Parker had a hit in each contest for the Falcons. Destini Trahan allowed six hits over 5.2 innings in the opening game while Riley Johnson threw 1.1 innings and allowed one earned run out of the bullpen in game two.

Down 3-0 in the second of the first game, Cheyenne Marquez got things going with a single, followed by walks to Parker and Emily Andress to load the bases. Despite the threat, the Falcons couldn't push across a run before the third out.

In the fourth, the Falcons threatened again. Parker hit a one-out double before walks to Nia Brown and Emery Aguilar loaded the bases. Once again the Falcons couldn't break through as the Lady Chaps got out of the inning on a ground ball. The home side pushed across runs in the first, second, third, and fifth for the win.

The Falcon offense scattered a pair of hits in the second game. They made some noise in the fourth after Delaney Doelitsch reached on a wild pitch after a strikeout. Lopez followed with a single but a Parker ground ball ended the threat.

Tomorrow is the series finale from Lubbock with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
