LUBBOCK – The Falcons were handing out souvenirs Saturday afternoon in two games up in Lubbock. Hitters racked up four homeruns to go with 17 hits over two games.
Aracely Araiza and
Melayna Lopez each went long in both games to combine for four dingers. Araiza went on to add a double to her score sheet.
Emily Andress had a double and a triple on the day.
Keri Sanford,
Julia Bumford, and Stephanie Jimez each added a stolen base for the Falcons.
In the circle,
Evelyn Duran collected six strikeouts for a complete game, 8-5 win over Minot State.
In game two, the Falcons rallied to catch up to, and pull ahead of, Emporia State. However, a last push from ESU went on to take the day in the second game.
UTPB will get a second shot at Chadron State on Sunday, February 12 at 11am in Lubbock, before starting conference play at Cameron University on Friday, February 17 at 3pm.
