Our final hometown hero of the season is Staff Sergeant Don McBroom. Don McBroom honorably served our country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971.

Staff Sergeant McBroom was first stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, from there Staff Sergeant McBroom deployed to Saigon Vietnam, now Ho Chi Minh City, in 1968, where he participated in the infamous TET offensive. After his tour in Vietnam Staff Sergeant McBroom returned stateside serving at Dyess Air force Base, Eglin Air force Base, and England.

Staff Sergeant McBroom is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations including Airman Maintenance of the month wherein he outperformed over 65,000 other candidates. Staff Sergeant McBroom has been married to his wife Carl-Ann for 57 years. They have two children, five grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
