Kaylee Overmyer added to her already impressive start on Friday, netting her fourth goal of the season for UT Permian Basin Women's Soccer. The senior's four goals are the most in a season for the program since 2015 when Ashley Redwine scored five.
Neither side could get the offense going early on but it was the Falcons with more chances in the opening 45 minutes. They caught a break in the 38
th minute after the Pioneers were whistled for a handball inside the box. After the initial shot was saved, Overmyer buried in the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Overmyer had a chance to add to the lead in the 54
th minute but her penalty kick attempt was denied. The Falcons had a third penalty kick attempt in the 78
th minute after another handball, but
Kristel Chaves' shot was knocked aside. The Pioneers tied the score in the 49
th minute and that goal held for the 1-1 final score.
Jenna McEnaney made two saves on the night. The Falcons had 12 shots as a team with eight landing on net.
