Madi Grace Carriello's 62nd minute goal gave UT Permian Basin a 1-0 lead, but a pair of goals swung the game to UT Tyler in a 2-1 final. Both sides played a scoreless first half after a combined 10 shots and three on goal.
Carriello put the Falcons ahead unassisted at 62:12 with her first goal of the season and a 1-0 advantage. The lead held until the Patriots matched it at 71:35 and later upped it to 2-1 at 77:13.
Agnes Sjursaether had a chance at the tie in the 84th minute, but her shot was blocked in what ended in a 2-1 final.
The Falcons totaled seven shots with two on goal.
In goal,
Jenna McEnaney faced 13 shots with five on goal, saving three in 90 minutes.
