The Falcons
- Last weekend the Falcons swept both West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico to remain alive for the Lone Star Conference playoffs. The Falcons are a game behind St. Edward's and Texas A&M International for the final playoff spot.
- The Falcons need to outright beat both the Hilltoppers and Dustdevils in the standings. Despite splitting with the Hilltoppers, they hold the tiebreaker by virtue of their win over Texas A&M – Commerce. The Dustdevils hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Falcons. Click here for the LSC Tiebreaker Policy.
- Valerie Gonzalez continues to have a sensational season. The senior leads the team with a .368 batting average and 56 hits. Her 34 runs the second most in a single season in team history.
- Aracely Araiza already has the single season doubles record and is tied for the program record.   Â
- The Falcons welcome the Mustangs to Odessa for the first time since 2018. These two teams have alternated wins over the last 6 games, splitting the series. The Falcons swept the last series in Odessa, a three-game set.
- After the second game the Falcons will honor their six seniors.
The Mustangs
- The Mustangs have just two conference wins on the season entering the final weekend of action.Â
- They are 0-13 on the road this year. They were swept in their last road series by Oklahoma Christian but game one was a tight 3-1 final.
- They are bottom of the conference as a team in ERA. The Mustangs are allowing 9.43 earned runs per game.
