The Falcons
- The Falcons extended their winning streak in game one of Friday's doubleheader to six before falling in the second game.
- Julia Bumford has emerged as a force at the plate. She is third in the LSC in batting average at .531, second in home runs in the LSC with six, and second in the LSC with 30 RBI. The sophomore is also fifth in the nation with an LSC leading 34 hits.
- The Falcons have already surpassed last season's win and run total.
- Valerie Gonzalez has done a lot of damage out of the leadoff spot with a .400 batting average and seven extra base hits.Â
- The team leads the LSC and is third nationally with 225 hits.
- Destini Trahan has been an ace for the Falcons. She already has five wins on the year and has pitched to a sparkling 2.05 ERA. She has won four of her last five outings.
- The Falcons and Pioneers split their series last season in Denton. The Falcons took the second game 6-3 after falling 10-9 in the opening game.
