Box Score 2 The UT Permian Basin Softball offense was on fire Saturday, scoring 20 runs and smacking 33 hits over two games.
Emily Andress led the charge with seven on the day, including a pair of extra base hits. All but one Falcon had multiple hits on the day as the team racked up 11 hits that went for extra bases.
The Falcons opened game one against Bethel College with a three spot in the first inning. They poured it on, adding another in the second and three more in the third. In the fifth,
Aracely Araiza ripped a two-run home run to push the lead to 9-2. Andress ended the game in the sixth with a two-run triple for the 11-3 final.
The bats stayed hot against Jarvis Christian in the second game of the day. Five hits sparked a four-run second inning, and that's all
Destini Trahan would need. They added to it scoring again in the third, fourth, and sixth innings to blow the game wide open. Trahan struck out seven and allowed just four hits for her second win of the season.
The Falcons wrap-up the weekend tomorrow against Baker starting at noon. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
