The FalconsÂ
- The Falcons were led by their pitching in the doubleheader against University of the Southwest on Tuesday. They allowed no earned runs in both games played.
- Becky Berth pitched a complete game where she only allowed one hit, as no earned runs came across the plate in Game 1. Game 2 went the same way for the Falcons as Destini Trahan pitched six shutout innings of one-hit ball. Cynthia Ng closed out the Mustangs chances with a perfect final inning.
- The Falcons were led by Ashlynn Bradley on the offensive side. She hit .400 in the doubleheader and drove in four Falcons. In Game 1 the Falcons were led by Bishop and Melayna Lopez. Bishop had three hits while Lopez had a double off the top of the wall for one of her two hits. Lopez also collected two RBI on a single through the right side. Valerie Gonzalez had a three-hit game in Game 2 with Leslie Martinez and Aracely Araiza each collecting a pair of hits as Martinez scored twice.
- Lopez is tied for sixth best in the Lone Star Conference with four walks.
- Gonzalez is in sole possession of first place in the conference in sacrifice hits with two.
- Trahan is tied for third in the conference with six strikeouts looking.
- As a team the Falcons are putting the ball in play as they are tied for the second lowest strikeouts in the conference with 10. They are first in the conference with six sacrifice hits.
- This will be the first time the Falcons will be playing the Drovers and the Rams.
The Drovers
- The Drovers were one of the top teams in the NAIA last year. They finished the year 49-8 before falling to Grand View University in the opening round of the NAIA Softball National Championships.Â
The Rams
- The Rams finished the 2020 season 10-6 before COVID halted their year. They decided to opt out of the 2021 campaign due to the pandemic. The Falcons will be their first opponent since their 2020 season ended.
